Kayla Cockerill Inducted into Tau Sigma National Honor Society at Northern Illinois University

2013 Feb 22

Kayla Cockerill of Mahomet Illinois, was among 30 students from Northern Illinois University who were inducted into the Tau Sigma Nation Honor Society during ceremonies on November 12, 2012.

Tau Sigma National Honor Society assists transfer students in honing their leadership skills, finding scholarships, and networking.

"Tau Sigma National Honor Society is an organization on campus that is dedicated to transfer students who are excelling in the classroom after a full-time semester on campus, and have accepted their invitation. We have a great group of students this year, and I look forward to their great ideas to get involved in the NIU, DeKalb, and Sycamore communities," said Arielle Kalvelage, Faculty Advisor of Tau Sigma.

Transfer students who attend NIU full-time, and have completed a fall or spring semester with a 3.5 GPA or higher are eligible for the honor society. Past members have hosted events such as Transfer Coffee Chats and student panels for transfer-related events.
